At the moment i've been pretty addicted to what I've loved before - Sean Hayes is a new discovery, thanks to Alec Egan using a track on his website - the album, 'Flowering Spade' is fantastic - not just in terms of melody but you gotta listen to what he actually says. I reallllly want to get my hands on a copy of Alabama Chicken but i can't seem to get much of Mr Hayes in Blighty.. sadly.

So much new music!!! O.O Wow! I switched on a radio for a change the other day! dear god I have like 3 pages of stuff I need to buy! Here's a link to a few of them - I think I'm leaning towards obscenely cheery stuff these days to try to compensate for the completely MISERABLE weather we're having in England. Lets just put it this way: I can't remember what the sun feels like. *sigh* So I have to get my sunshine kicks from music instead.

this is SUCH a frank sinatra style song - the video is nothing like the way i imagined it would be, but hey - the song is still fantastic!

i've done my own version (albeit very rushed so not particularly good) i think the tone of it (i.e. 1940s black n white sappy movie) suits the song far better... but then I'm only me, what do I know?

Week 3

You, Me and the Bourgeoisie by The Submarines. Great song, used on the Iphone 3G advert. Really good animated video too!

I am absolutely LOVING The Submarines at the moment - I downloaded their album, 'Honeysuckle Weeks' and it's all really great! kind of a bit of a 1970s happy clappy long hazy summer days feel to it. The three songs I just can't stop listening to are: You, Me and the Bourgoisie - which I've already posted here - Swimming Pool is also fantastic! sounds like it should be used in some form of chick flick like She's All That -that kind of thing, kind of Sixpence None The Richer sort of feel to it. Some really clever lyrics there. Also, I love 'Submarine Symphonika'. 'The Wakeup Song' with its retro keyboard sound makes me feel about 6 years old again!... or just old... coz I had one of those keyboards and now it's 'retro'.... :S anyway.

Basically, I love music - all sorts. I've been told on many occasions by many people that I have good taste, and I'm always on the lookout for something new that grabs my attention. I spent far too much time surfing youtube for my own good, but often, that's where I stumble upon songs that I fall in love with. Sometimes it's the song on it's own, sometimes, it's a video that strikes me and draws me in...
